Bandipora, December 15: A massive search operation has been launched in Bandipora town to track down the militants involved in killing of two policemen in the heart of Bandipora town last week.
The Security agencies have launched a massive manhunt to nab the attackers. Official sources said the security agencies have got some crucial leads after assessing the CCTV footage and other relevant material and efforts are on to nab the culprits. More than 50 persons including former militants and suspected OGWs have been detained for questioning so far.
The joint forces including Army, CRPF and Bandipora Police have launched frequent Cordon and Search Operations at suspected locations to nab the attackers. All domains of intelligence are being used to track the militants involved in the attack.
The Security has also been beefed up across the district to avoid any other attack in future besides tracking down the suspected militants.
Bandipora Police has also established Nakas at entry points of the town and every vehicle is being thoroughly checked before entering into the town.
Militants had fired upon a police party at Gulshan Chowk area of Bandipora on December 10 resulting in killing two police personnel.
