Bandipora 08 Oct (KNZ):While 3.38 voting was recorded in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district, the polling percentage remained in lowest number in rest of the five districts voting in first phase of the elections to Urban local bodies in the state.
Officials told that till 5pm only 573 votes where casted from 16953 in the district which counts only 3.29 percent.
However protests took place in various parts of bandipora including Plan Bandipora, Lankreahi pora, nusoo, Gulshan Chowk. In the protest one women hit by pellets and a youth got injured while forces used tyre gas and pellets on the protests.
Plan bandipora registered the lowest voting percentage in bandipora Ward 7 Nusoo remain on bycott not a single vote was casted, Ward no 3 registerd only 6 votes and ward 4 registerd only 5 votes.
As per JRL call for a shut down today bandipora also remain closed. There where heavy deployment of security arrangenments in the area.
