Srinagar Oct 24 [KNZ]: Beard of a man was chopped off by unknown persons in Batamaloo area of Srinagar Tuesday morning.
Beard of Farooq Ahmad Bhat alias Shakoori was chopped off when he was opening his shop at Kashi Mohalla area.
“I was opening my shop when three persons asked for cigarettes,” Farooq told Kashmir Reader. He added “as soon as came closer to them they swiftly caught hold on me, used some spray and I felt unconscious.”
Farooq was taken to SMHS and after he came to his senses he found his left side of beard chopped off.
Farooq has approached police and they have started investigating the matter.
Braid chopping incidents are taking place in the valley ever since two months now.
The Batamaloo beard chopping incident is the second of its nature in the said time.
