Srinagar, Sep 10 (KB): While campaigning in Anantnag, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said that the BJP is stunned to see the alliance of the Congress-National Conference. That is why the BJP is repeatedly changing the list of candidates in Jammu and Kashmir. From this, it can be guessed that the BJP is scared to see the unity of the India Alliance.
The Congress President was addressing a huge public meeting in Anantnag. After this, he also addressed a press conference in Srinagar.
Amidst the huge crowd gathered in the public meeting, Mallikarjun Kharge, as per news agency—Kashmir Bulletin (KB), alleged that corruption is happening in Jammu and Kashmir under the governor’s rule.
Former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satyapal Malik said that instead of investigating the people he accused of corruption worth hundreds of crores, government agencies are raiding their houses under dictatorial orders. This was said by Satyapal Malik, who was made the governor by the BJP itself.
The Congress President said the BJP is trying to divide the people here in the name of religion, but it will never succeed. The Congress government had brought the Food Security Bill.
Earlier, 11 kg of rice was available in Jammu and Kashmir; today only five kg are available. This shows who is sympathetic to the poor. This is the difference between Congress and BJP.
A market was to be built in this area of Anantnag ten years ago, which was also inaugurated. But it remained lying like that in the Modi government. There is no one to look into it. He further said that unemployment and inflation are increasing in Jammu and Kashmir; there is a problem with many things, including electricity and water.
While cornering the central government over the terror attacks, Kharge said attacks are happening everywhere in Jammu and Kashmir today, yet Prime Minister Modi is not ashamed of lying.
Because he is the leader of liars. Narendra Modi had said that everyone would be given Rs 15 lakh each. Two crore jobs will be given every year. Black money will be brought back from abroad. But he did nothing, only misled the people.
The Congress President further said that the Modi government is running on the strength of the TDP and Nitish Kumar. Narendra Modi used to say 400 plus, but the BJP got only 240 seats.
If the All India Alliance had gotten just 20 more seats, the corrupt people sitting in the government would have gone to jail. Kharge reiterated the promise that the Congress will get Jammu and Kashmir the status of a state. Along with the Legislative Assembly, the Legislative Council will also be restored. Every effort will be made for the rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits.
Listing the guarantees of Congress for Jammu and Kashmir, Kharge said that if the Congress-National Conference coalition government is formed, the female head of the family will be given Rs 3,000 every month.
One lakh vacant government posts will be filled. Every member of the family will get 11 kg of rice. Health insurance of Rs 25 lakh will be given. Women involved in self-help groups will get an interest-free loan of Rs 5 lakh. Thousands of government schools have been closed here; they will be reopened.
As soon as the coalition government comes, attention will be given to tourism, production, employment, and education. During this, former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah, Congress Organization General Secretary KC Venugopal, Jammu and Kashmir Congress in-charge Bharat Solanki, Congress General Secretary Ghulam Ahmed Mir, State President Hamid Karra, and other senior leaders were present.— (KB)
