Srinagar,July 6 : Body of policeman who was abducted by militants from his native village in Shopian district on late Thursday evening, found in neighbouring Kulgam today morning.
A police official said that two to three militants abducted the police Constable namely Javid Ahmad Dar alias Judge Dar son of Abdul Hamid Dar near his residence in Vehil village of Shopian around late last evening.
Dar was taken to an unknown destination, the official said.
Today morning the bullet-riddled body of the cop was found at Pariwan village in neighbouring Kulgam district, he said.
The officer said that a police team immediately reached the spot and taken the body for all legal medico formalities in the postmortem.
Sources said that the cop was PSO of former SSP Shopian Shailendra Mishra.
On June 14, militants abducted an army man, Aurangzeb from Kalampora village of Pulwama. His body was later recovered from Gusoo village of the district. (GNS)
