BUDGAM ; 30 Aug: Continuing its efforts to curb the menace of drugs from the society, Budgam Police arrested 03 notorious drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
During naka checking at Dafpora Nasrullapora, police party of Police Station Budgam intercepted one vehicle bearing registration No.JK04E-9755 EECO Van with 03 persons onboard, during search of said vehicle, police party recovered 2.80 Grams of Heroin like substance, 5 Kgs of codeine based syrup in a plastic container, 02 Bottles of codeine based Syrup and 471 tablets of controlled medicine Alprazolam
The 03 arrested persons have been identified as:- Jahangir Ahmad Mugloo@Jan Kandeel S/O Abdul Rashid Mugloo R/O Putlibagh, Firdous Ahmad Dar S/O Habibullah Dar R/O Nasrullapora and 03 Manzoor Ahmad Dar@Jakass S/O Farooq Ahmad Dar R/o Nasrullapora Budgam
Vehicle used in commission of crime also seized on spot.
Case FIR number 276/2021 under relevant sections of NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Budgam and investigation set into motion.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
