Budgam Police recovered 04 logs and 56 Wooden Swans of illicit forest timber and arrests one accused person involved in the commission of crime.
Police Station Khag received an information that one Abdul Hamid Shera son of Mohammad Hussain Sheera resident of Gujarpathri Drang has kept huge quantity of illicit timber in an orchard land on Drung Gujarpathri road who was planning & waiting for right time to smuggle it to other area. Accordingly, police party of police Station Khag conducted the raid on specific location. Following illicit timber was recovered from the spot:-
logs of 7feet = 02 Nos
logs of 5 feets = 02 Nos
Swan wooden 7 feet = 23 numbers
Swan wooden 4 feet =12 numbers
Swan wooden 2.5 feet= 21 numbers The accused smuggler has been arrested on the spot.
Case FIR Number 50/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Khag and investigation into the matter is initiated. More arrests and recoveries are expected.
