BUDGAM: Budgam Police recovered a kidnapped minor girl and arrested her kidnapper at Delhi.
On 30th November 2021, Police station Beerwah received a complaint from one (name withheld) resident of Check Marg that his minor daughter (Name withheld) aged about 16 years is missing since 28/11/2021 and has probably been kidnapped by some unknown persons.
Upon this information, a case FIR number 161/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police station Beerwah and investigation set into motion.
During the course of investigation, some suspects were questioned and following some leads it surfaced that the girl has been kidnapped by one Rahil Ahmad Wani S/o Mohammad Rafiq Wani R/o Shaheed Ganj Srinagar and taken to Delhi. A team of police officers along with lady police were sent to Delhi for recovery of the kidnapped minor girl. Consequently, on 03/12/2021 the kidnapped girl was recovered from the possession of accused Rahil Ahmad Wani son of Mohammad Rafiq Wani resident of Shaheed Gunj Srinagar from Karata 87, Karol Bagh Delhi. The accused kidnapper was arrested and shifted to Police Station Beerwah where he remains in custody. After fulfilling all medico-legal formalities, the girl was handed over to her parents. Further investigation into the matter is in progress.
