Bandipora: With wife battling an acute heart ailment at the hospital, a middle-aged man in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district has been left high and dry after burglars looted his medical agency on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday.

Zahid Khalil Shah, 40, who runs a pharmaceutical store ‘Zahid Brothers’ opposite CHC hospital Hajin said burglars decamped with Rs 30,000 and medicines worth Rs 12,000.

All this occurred when Shah himself is attending his wife, diagnosed with heart ailment, at SKIMS Soura.

Doctors have told Shah that surgery will cost him over Rs 6 lakh and she will have to remain in the hospital for now.
Zahid termed the burglary as “most unfortunate” while his wife was battling for life amid the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic which has left everyone run for life.

Station House Office Hajin said that they have not received any complaint over the matter.

But then, a police complaint at the moment seems out of place as Shah is himself at the hospital with his wife with his elder brothers too old to move out amid the prevailing pandemic, which has infected the north Kashmir district more than any other district.
