Ganderbal 11 Nov (KNZ):Local residents of various villages around Chappergund-Gutlibagh road are suffering a great deal because of dilapidated condition of the road.
The road which has been constructed by JKPDC for hydro electric project Ganderbal are hiding away from the responsibility and not interested in improving the condition of the road.
Locals said that the JKPDC took under construction of the road since one decade but the condition of the road is deteriorated to the extreme as commuters face lot of problems while commuting the road.
The road is full of pot holes which damages vehicles and make traveling on the road difficult.
When locals approaching the R&B department for repair of the road they were told that this road doesn’t come under jurisdiction. We can only repair the road if JKPDC full fledgedly hands over the road to R&B department.
JKPDC department not handed over the said road to R&B department till date
According to reports Managing director JKPDC writes letter to R&B department to locals are regularly approaching our office for maintenance of the road.Since the road is not being used to project by JKPDC yet,it would be in the interest of the corporation as well as the locals that if the said road is maintained by R&B department till the work on NGHEP is started to mitigate the inconvenience being faced by the public due to dilapidated road.
However R&B department submitted the report said that the Chappergund-Gutlibagh road is maintained by JKPDC department.R&B department is not ignoring the road, basically JKPDC department has obtained NOC from R&B department of NGHEP project.KNZ
