Srinagar, Oct 7 [KNZ]: Government forces on Saturday launched a cordon-and-search operation at Pulwama village in south Kashmir.

Official sources told news agency GNS that a joint team of police, army and CRPF laid a cordon-and-search at Bellow village following inputs about the presence of some militants.
Soon after the cordon, locals took to streets and started hurled rocks on forces triggering off stone pelting clashes in the area, they said.
“Police and paramilitary CRPF fired tear smoke shells to disperse them”.

Meanwhile, a house belonging to Gh Ahmad Dar caught fire during the clashes.

SSP Pulwama Mohd Aslam Choudhary while confirming the incident told GNS that they have launched the cordon in the area following inputs about the presence of some militants.
“A house also caught fire which is situated outside the cordon area”, SSP said.

He said investigations has been launched to ascertain the cause of fire incident. (GNS)
