Srinagar: Clashes between protesters and government forces erupted in Keller area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district Monday afternoon soon after the forces launched Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in the area, sources said.
Acting on a tip off about the presence of militants in the village Batpora Keller, government forces laid a cordon, sources said.
Immediately after the cordon locals of the area took to streets and pelted stones on forces who retaliated with teargas shelling to disperse the protesters.
