Ganderbal 18 April【KNZ】:Government forces on wednesday resorted to tear gas shelling to disperse Degree college students protesting against Kathua rape-and-murder case in Ganderbal district of Central Kashmir.

An eye witness told Kashmir News Zone (KNZ)that the students of Degree College Ganderbal, which opened today, tried to stage a protest outside the college.

However, forces deployed in the area resorted to tear gas shelling to break up the protest, triggering clashes.

Before stepping outside, the students staged a protest inside the college where they raised slogans in favour of justice to Kathua minor who was gangraped and murdered in Rasana village of Kathua in January this year.

Amid pro-freedom and anti-India sloganeering, the students tried to march towards the main road but the forces didn’t allow them to move forward thereby triggering clashes.

Clashes were going on when reports last came in.KNZ
