Srinagar: Army soldiers on Saturday fired in air in Ganowpora village of Shopian, after clashes between protesters and forces erupt in the area sources said.
Ganowpora is the village of Firdous Ahmad Lone, a Hizb militant who was killed in a gunfight at Chaigund village along with another militant Sameer Ahmad on Wednesday.
SSP Shopian, S A Dinkar told Kashmir Reader that there was stone pelting on army convoy after which soldiers fired few shots in air. “There was stone pelting on army convoy and army personnel fired some shots in air,” SSP said.
Locals however said that three persons sustained injuries in army firing. They identified the injured as Rahul Ahmad of Ganowpora, Javed Ahmad of Balpora and Rayees Ahmad of Narpora villages.
Medical superintendent Pulwama confirmed that two injured have been brought to the hospital.
