Kulgam 10 Aug【KNZ】:Continuing with the efforts to enhance the cleanliness of environment, Under the Swach Bharat Mission, Block Development Officer Pahloo, Mr Javid Ahmad Sheikh KAS today initiated the Road and Public places cleaning drive.
The drive was started at Halqa Arigutnoo and during a day long exercise, entire Cow dung and other wastes along Road sides was removed using JCB and Tractors.
The inhabitants of the area provided full cooperation in this endeavour and also resolved to keep their surroundings clean henceforth.
Similarly, people of other villages have been advised to remove Cow dung,construction material and other wastes deposited along roads and in public spaces voluntarily.
Otherwise similar action shall follow in the coming days. Besides, the local khateebs during Friday sermons also emphasised the need for keeping the environment clean.
The local people have thanked the Rural Development Department for initiating this action and have expected that such exercises be continued in future as well.KNZ
