Srinagar Oct 25 [KNZ]: In the backdrop of recent attacks on militant families in South Kashmir, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has advised the police against attacking the families of the militants.
Addressing a function at Basic Recruitment Training Course in Manigam, Ganderbal, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti said, “Police is a law abiding forces but militants are not. Militants target police men and PDP workers and ransack their house. However, police has a responsibility and should not act in the same manner.”
“The way militants are attacking the policemen’s families police shouldn’t do the same. They should maintain difference,” she said.
Maintaining that police was facing many challenges, the chief minister asked the cops to “ensure surrender of local militants”.
Pertinently, houses of several militants were ransacked and family members allegedly thrashed by government forces during past week in south Kashmir.
