Ganderbal, 20 Oct,【KNZ】:- A meeting was convened by the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Syed Shahnawaz Bukhari (KAS) in his office chamber today in order to take note of the braid chopping incidents in District Ganderbal.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal constituted District Level Committee under his Chairmanship with Additional Superintendent of Police Ganderbal, Assistant Commissioner Development, Chief Medical Officer Ganderbal, and District Social Welfare Officer Ganderbal as members to monitor the alleged cases and for tight vigil in the District. The chair directed the officers to constitute Tehsil Level Committees comprising of Tehsildar concerned, SHO concerned and Tehsil Social Welfare Officer for post traumatic counseling of the victims.
The chair asked the officers to frame village level committees comprising of Patwari, VLW, Lambardar, Chowkidar, and Aanganwari workers for outreach to every village. Chief Medical Officer was asked to provide counselors as and when required for post traumatic counseling of the victims. Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal requested the general public not to pay attention towards rumor mongers as in most of the cases innocents have been thrashed by the mobs and in case of any such incident contact the committees or nearby police stations. He also requested the people not to take law in their own hands.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Development Ganderbal, District Social Welfare Officer, Deputy Chief Medical Officer Ganderbal, and all Tehsildars of the District.
