Srinagar July 26, Reacting to the weapon snatching incident in Shopian this evening, the J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Spokesperson clarified that Mohd Shafi Banday was not in the Congress, saying that Banday is a PDP Leader from Shopian.
In a Statement issued, the JKPCC Spokesperson refuted in toto the news item carried by section of press linking Mohd Shafi Banday with Congress Party.
Giving details about the political career of Mohd Shafi Banday, the Spokesperson clarified that Banday, previously contested Elections on Congress Ticket in the year 2002 from Shopian Assembly Segment and after the elections, he joined PDP and contested elections as PDP Candidate from Shopian in 2008 and in 2014, Banday supported PDP Candidate.
