Ganderbal:District Legal Services Authority, Ganderbal under the aegis of National Legal Services Authority and State Legal Services Authority celebrated Constitution Day by organising a series of programs in the District.

That the series of events were held under the supervision of Mr. Abdul Nasir, Chairman District Legal Services Authority (Pr. District & Sessions Judge), Ganderbal and guidance of Mr. Sheikh Babar Hussain, Secretary District Legal Services Authority, Ganderbal.

    That the series of events began with an inaugural function in the Conference Hall, District Court Complex, Ganderbal where Hon’ble Judges and staff of District Court Ganderbal read the Preamble of the Constitution. 

The Hon’ble Judges emphasized the importance of the Constitution, including the Preamble, Fundamental Rights, Directive Principles of State Policy and the need to promote constitutional values and awareness among citizens.

The entire gathering pledged their allegiance to the fundamental duties as enshrined in the constitution of India.

Subsequently, a program was organized at Govt. Boys Hr. Secondary School, Lar Ganderbal wherein Chief Education Officer Ganderbal, Mr. Surjeet Kumar Sharma said, that as educationists it’s our prime responsibility to ensure that our students understand the value of the Constitution and its role in shaping our society.

We must encourage them to think about the issues that affect our nation and to become active participants in the democratic process. The event was followed by an enlightening speech by Principal, Govt. Boys Hr. Secondary School Lar who emphasized the importance of constitutional values in our life and encouraged the students to become responsible citizens.

Other distinguished speakers including Mr. Nazir Ahmad, Legal Assistant and Mr. Showkat Ahmad Bhat, Senior Lecturer also shared their valuable insights on the significance of the Constitution and its relevance in present times.

Resource person, Advocate Ms. Romani Syed highlighted the significance of the constitution, which not only guarantees liberty, justice, and equality to one and all but also build fraternity among its citizens’. Later she explained constitution’s wholesomeness for individual and collective development, and importance of individuals’ commitment to the constitution of India.

The program was further enriched by impressive speeches delivered by students showcasing their knowledge and understanding of the Constitution.

Moreover during the day a camp was also organized in collaboration with Tehsil Legal Service Committee, Ganderbal within the District Court premises. The aim of the camp was to promote constitutional values among the citizens and litigants in particular. The camp featured interactive sessions with legal aid beneficiaries, who shared their experiences regarding their cases handled by Panel lawyers.

This unique initiative provided a platform for the legal aid beneficiaries to share their stories and receive guidance and support from the legal aid institutions.

In addition to this Tehsil Legal Service Committee, Kangan also celebrated Constitution Day by reading the Preamble of the Constitution at Munsiff Court Kangan and also organized a program at Govt. Degree College, Kangan, promoting constitutional awareness and values among students.
