Rajouri, May 04: A notorious thief and druggist hailing from jawahar Nagar area of Rajouri town son of Assistant Sub Inspector who was booked in many cases of theft and drug peddling has been detained under Public Safety Act (PSA).
As per reports the notorious theif has been identified as Sunny Sharma son of ASI Romesh Chander resident of ward No 5 jawahar Nagar Rajouri.
Police said that the accused has been booked under Public Safety Act for his repeated involvement in theft cases and drug peddling thereby posing a threat to peace and order.
He did not change his behaviour inspite of been booked in several FIRs and arrest by police in these cases but he continued his illegal and unlawful act of theft and such activities of Sunny Sharma have become headache for people of Jawahar Nagar and Rajouri city.
The cases in which notorious accused has been booked earlier include FIR NO 503/2013 U/S 379 RPC, FIR NO 626/2014 U/S 379 RPC, FIR NO 529/2015 U/S 457/380/RPC, FIR NO 71/2016 U/S 380 RPC
FIR NO 748/2016 U/S 457/380 RPC, FIR NO 755/2016 U/S 457/380 RPC, FIR NO 134/2017 U/S 224 RPC, FIR NO 13/2018 U/S 382 RPC, FIR NO 380/2020 U/S 457/357IPC, FIR NO 407 /2020 U/S 357/380 and 109 IPC, FIR NO 423/2020 U/S 323/224 IPC, FIR NO 443/2020 U/S 357/380 IPC.
Police said that keeping in view the activities of said accused as his activities amounts to propagating and creating feelings of terror among communities, the accused was ordered to be detained under section 8 of Public Safety Act and has been lodged in jail.
His arrest was made by police team laeby SHO Rajouri Shoukat Ahmed under the close supervision of DySP Hqr Mudasir Ahmed and was closely monitored by Senior Superintendent of Police in Rajouri, Amritpal Singh.
Its pertinent to mention here that since joining of New SSP AmritPal Singh, DySP hqr Mudasir Ahmed and SHO Shoukat Ahmed have joined in Rajouri, 4 hardcore and notorious criminals including OGW, drug peddler amd bovine smugglers have been booked under PSA.
