Ganderbal, March 22 (KNZ):District Magistrate Ganderbal Sunday imposed restrictions across the district up to March 31 as a precautionary measure to prevent spread of Corona virus infection.

In an order issued late Sunday, District Magistrate Mr Shafqat Iqbal orders closure of all business establishments and movement of public transport and also bans movement, assembly, gathering or procession of more than 03 persons including in towns and villages.

According to the order no. 237-DMG of 2020 no public / private transport shall ply in the District till 31th of March, 2020. “However, the transport meant for essential supplies and vehicles of employees of essential services and those involved in the measures to contain the virus shall be allowed on showing their identity cards and certificates/posses issued by the District administration.

The District Magistrate directed complete shutdown of all private and public business establishments except dealing with essential services/ commodities as notified in the Government order No: 60-FCS&CA of 2020, dated: 22.03.2020.

Essential services mentioned in the list include Supply of Groceries (wholesalers and retailers), Supply of Fresh fruits and vegetables (mandies and retailers), Dispensing of Petrol/Diesel at Pumps, Milk shops and dairies and related products, Supply of Cattle feed and fodder, Medicines and other pharmaceuticals (retailers, wholesalers and manufacturing), Banks and ATMs, Supply of LPG (domestic and commercial), Health services ( including movement of staff thereof), Manufacturing of health and medical equipment, Telecom operators and their designated agencies

The other essentials mentioned include Newspapers, Post offices, Loading and unloading of Wheat and Rice at FCI and State Food depots, Transportation of essential commodities through National and State Highways (Petrol, Diesel, Kerosene, Milk, Vegetables, Fruits, groceries, FCI supplies etc

DM has directed the concerned agencies to ensure strict enforcement of restrictions across the district. He appealed the general public to cooperate with the administration and ensure strict adherence to the order. He said the violation of restriction orders shall be a criminal act and violators shall be prosecuted.

Mr Shafqat Iqbal also said that adequate arrangements have been put in place to ensure that people don’t face any problem with regard to the supply of essential commodities. He said the administration has already designated officers to coordinate on ground with field officers to ensure hassle free distribution of ration to the people without violating restriction orders.KNZ
