Srinagar:118 Bn, CRPF celebrated its 30th raising day at Unit HQ Gund, District Ganderbal (J&K) with full fervor on 01/04/2021.
118 Bn, CRPF came into existence on 1st April, 1991 at Group Centre CRPF, Mokamaghat, Distt-Patna (Bihar).
On the occasion of raising day of this unit all officers, SOs & men gathered at quarter guard. Dr. Satyaveer Singh Verma, Commandant-118 Bn CRPF took salute at Quarter Guard. Commandant eulogized the achievements of the unit and encouraged men to follow the glorious traditions of esteemed Force.
The function was graced by Political leaders, Col. 123 Inf. (TA) Grenadiers, Officers of 24 Rashtriya Rifles, various other local representatives and school children.
A Sainik sammelan was convened wherein all ranks attended it, they were exhorted and elated by words of Commandant-118. Further, a cultural programme and friendly cricket match has also been organized followed by “Bada Khana”.
Notwithstanding the fact that the unit is deployed at the height of approx. 9215 feet with the toughest climate conditions as a result of the treacherous cold, the unit celebrated its Raising day with full zeal and enthusiasm.
