Srinagar, Mar 26 (KS): Revenue Department officials on Tuesday seized a Common Service Center (CSC) and another shop, providing digital services, allegedly for forgery of documents.
An official told news agency Kashmir Scroll that, a team of revenue officials headed by Tehsildar Larnoo inspected one CSC center located at Khreti and one shop providing digital services located at Larnoo today (26.03.2024).
“Upon inspection, it was found that these two centers indulged in forgery of documents which included putting scanned signatures on domicile certificates and using fake PRCs while applying for domicile certificates,” the official said.
“The devices used for this purpose were taken into custody for further inquiry and to find out if there is any further violation done by these two centers,” the official said, adding, “till inquiry is completed, the operation of these two centers shall remain closed.”
“Also, other CSC centers and shops dealing with online services are put under strict instruction not to indulge in any malicious act or to forge any document. Any such behaviour shall invite necessary action under law,” the official said further. (KS)
