Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Dr Basharat Qayoom, IAS today conducted a late night surprise check of District Hospital Anantnag. The Deputy Commissioner inspected various sections of the hospital, interacted with the on duty staff as well as with several patients.
The Deputy Commissioner inspected various sections of the hospital including casualty wards, IPD, Emergency, biochemistry lab, office area and medical ICU. He interacted with several patients and inquired regarding the medical facilities being provided. He also inspected the functioning of the heating facility. He emphasized on maintaining hygienic conditions in the hospital as well on ensuring round the clock presence of doctors to ensure seamless medical care is provided to the patients.
The Deputy Commissioner directed Principal, GMC Anantnag Dr Tariq Qureshi as well as the MS to take immediate steps for augmenting the capacity of the casualty ward. He emphasized that patients come to the hospital with much hope and it is important to show empathy and concern while extending medical care.
The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by ADC Anantnag. In addition to Principal and MS DH Anantnag, professors from GMC Anantnag, doctors and paramedical staff were present during the inspection.
