Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza Friday flagged off a group of 33 farmers for training at Ludhiana in Punjab. The tour has been organized by Department of Agriculture under interstate training programme. During the tour, farmers will interact with scientists and progressive farmers and will have field visit to get acquainted with the modern technology used in farming.
While interacting with the farmers on the occasion, DC Bandipora said the tour has been organized for acquainting the farmers with modern techniques for Commercial farming, emerging trends in agriculture, organic farming and cultivation of different crops on scientific lines under protected conditions.He said the aim of the tour is to keep the farmers abreast with the latest technical knowhow and also to improve the skill of the farmers.
He impressed upon the farmers to interact with the scientists, experts and extension functionaries to get up to date methodology in cultivation of crops on scientific lines.DC Bandipora asked the farmers to enhance their technical skills in the field of Integrated Farming and to adopt the advanced technology for cultivation of latest crops. Chief Agriculture Officer Farooq Ahmad Dandroo was also present on the occasion.
