GANDERBAL, APRIL 4: Deputy Commissioner(DC) Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal along with Additional Deputy commissioner, Farooq Ahmad Baba today visited Industrial estate Ganderbal where they distributed masks among the Labourers who work in different units engaged in manufacturing of essential commodities here.
while interacting with the people there he said that sustained efforts are put in place to effectively counter the Coronavirus pandemic and to provide relief to the Migrant labourers, destitute and to ensure continuous supply of commodities, district administration has put in place a robust mechanism in this regard.
Regarding the stock position in the district DC said that there is no dearth of essential commodities in the district and District Administration has started distribution of advance ration of two month to the people at their doorsteps to maintain social distance.
On the occasion, the DC also appreciated the frontline workers for their innovative role in current crisis. He said that adequate life protecting gears like PPE kits, masks, sanitizers have been made available to all the line departments and officials.
He said that the District Administration has dedicated District Hospital to Covid-19 and all routine OPDs have been closed there. Besides additional OPD facilities is made available at Wellness Centre Saloora so that people may not suffer.
The DC reiterated that there is no need to panic as all requisite steps are being taken to tackle any eventuality. He appealed public to observe complete lockdown and to cooperate with the District Administration.
Notably, the district is under lockdown and strict restrictions are in place to contain the spread of corona virus and people are appealed to follow guidelines of health department and to stay home to break the chain of Corona virus infection.
