GANDERBAL, MARCH 14: The Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal today visited NTPHC Shallabugh, Ganderbal to inspect the quarantine facilities for suspected patients in view of spread of Corona virus.
During the visited, the DC was accompanied by CMO and other officials from health department.
During the visit, the DC inspected the facilities available in NTPHC including bedding, dustbins, cleanliness, washrooms and emergency/hygienic material.
The CMO Ganderbal briefed the DDC about the facilities available and informed that 10 quarantine beds are earmarked at NTPHC.
Pertinently, 70 Quarantine beds are already earmarked at District Hospital Ganderbal, MMC Watlar, PHC Wussan and SDH Kangan.
Meanwhile, awareness session was held in the premises of NTPHC during which CMO Ganderbal sensitized people present there about precautionary measures to be taken which can help in containing spread of this infectious disease.
DDC while speaking on the occasion said that district administration is monitoring the situation closely and people need not to panic regarding threat of Corona virus.
He also appealed the public to ignore rumours regarding Corona Virus and take basic precautions including personal hygiene, frequent hand washing with soap and avoiding any large gathering.
