GANDERBAL, JANUARY 07: To ensure stabilization of rates and availability of essential commodities after the heavy snowfall, District Administration Ganderbal has intensified market checking in the district.
After several complaints were received regarding black marketing, profiteering and hoarding, the Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal today supervised market checking of several markets in district and warned strict action against the offenders.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Farooq Ahmed Baba, AD food, Naseer Ahmad Baba,Tehsildar Ganderbal, SHO Ganderbal and other officials of Department accompanied the DC.
Pertinently District Administration has designated different Market Checking teams headed by concerned Tehsildars who carry regular inspections of markets, petrol pumps to inspect the availability of essential commodities and check arbitrary price hike in markets owing to heavy snowfall.
On the occasion the DC said that market checking is being intensified in all blocks including Kangan Sub-Division to ensure stabilization of market rates and availability of essential commodities including vegetables. The shopkeepers are directed to keep Government approved rate lists displayed in their shops and warned strict action against erring shopkeepers for violating the Food Safety and Standard Rules.
It was also given out that there is a sufficient stock of essential commodities available in the district including LPG, ration, Vegetables and other essentials.
Meanwhile, DC has appealed general public of the district to bring into the notice of Administration if they find anyone indulging in overcharging of essential commodities for immediate necessary action.
