Pulwama, February 5:
A crucial district-level committee meeting was convened under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Dr Basharat Qayoom (IAS) aimed at implementing the SAHYTA scheme in the District.

The SAHYTA scheme, with its overarching objective to extend financial assistance to distressed youth, particularly those who have lost family members in insurgency-related incidents, cross-border shelling, or mine blasts, is poised to make a substantial impact on the lives of affected individuals in District Pulwama.

Under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, the meeting delineated the roadmap for disbursing financial aid amounting to 1 lakh rupees to eligible beneficiaries. A key focus of the deliberations was the meticulous identification and verification of candidates from the police database who qualify for assistance under the SAHYTA scheme.

Deputy Commissioner underscored the paramount importance of accurate beneficiary identification, stressing the need for thorough verification processes to ensure the scheme reaches those most in need. The Chair directed the concerned authorities to meticulously gather information from the police database and conduct comprehensive verifications to ascertain the eligibility of potential beneficiaries.

Moreover, recognizing the pivotal role of awareness in reaching out to eligible candidates, the Employment Department was tasked with disseminating information about the SAHYTA scheme across all police stations in the district. The directive aims to ensure that individuals who meet the criteria for assistance are made aware of the scheme’s provisions and how to avail themselves of the benefits.

The meeting was attended by ADDC Pulwama, SSP Awantipora,ASP Pulwama ,AD Employment and other District officers.
