Bandipora : As part of an ongoing initiative, the Drug Control Department (DCD) Bandipora today conducted inspections across various retail establishments in the Gurez Valley. Drug Control Department District Bandipora Intensifies the on going drive towards far flung areas of the District for compliance of the Directions passed by the Worthy State Drugs Controller, J& K and implementation of Drugs and Cosmetics Act and Rules thereunder.

Drugs Control officer Mr. Bilal Ahmad Rather, under Personal Supervision of Assistant Drugs Controller,DFCO Bandipora/ Ganderbal Mrs. Neegena Akther conducted surprise inspections on 11th and 12th June across Guraz Valley.

Various retail sale establishments were inspected in and around CHC, Dawar, Charawan Guraz. The main focus of the inspections is to verifying the installation of CCTV cameras and Computerized Billing System and preservation of CCTV Footage.It has been observed that all the retail sale establishments of the Dawar Guraz Valley have installed CCTV Cameras with DVR based and few retail sale establishments have installed Computer Billing System installed with software. The records of Narcotic and Psychotropic substances were checked and verified with the physical stock on spot and found satisfactory. All the chemists were directed to maintain record of each and ever Insulin Syringe and maintain xerox copies of Adhar card and Prescription of the patient in order to prevent their misuse. Team had a through inspection of the Government Drug store of Dawar Gurez and checked the record of NRX Drugs on spot and some directions were passed on spot to the in-charge Pharmacist with regard to the Storage and maintenance of records of Drugs. Also seven different preparations medicines were lifted for test/ analysis from the different retail sale dealers. On 12th of June 2024, a meeting has been conducted with the Block Medical Officer, CHC Dawar. Various issues has been discussed about the Drug store and functioning of Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushudhi Medical store which was non- functional as on date despite of having retail sale drug licence. BMO, CHC Dawar assured, that the PMJAK, Medical store will be made functional very shortly. Also doctors of CHC Dawar were requested to put their seal and signature of all the prescriptions in order to prevent misuse/ repetition of prescriptions.
