GANDERBAL, AUGUST 10: District Development Commissioner (DDC), Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal, today urged Rural Development Department (RDD) to adopt innovative methods for effective implementation of schemes at grass root level and involve people in the developmental process.
The DDC said this during a meeting of Rural Development Department to review its functioning and progress made under the flagship programmes including PMAY, MGNREGA, SBM (G), 14th FC, Back to Village and utilization of SBM funds.
The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Anika Mushtaq, Assistant Commissioner Development, Executive Engineer RDD, District Panchayat Officer, Block Development Officers, AEEs, AEs and other concerned officials.
The DDC sought the details regarding utilization of SBM funds, GEO tagging of works, LOB and NOLB, FTO generation under MGNREGA and 14TH FC, uploading of MGREGA plan, PMAY and 15th FC plan on eGramswaraj portal, status of Panchayat Bawan, completion of CSCs and rural connectivity works.
A threadbare discussion was also held on the directions given in previous meeting of RDD. The DDC sought detailed actions taken report from all BDOs who briefed him about the progress on works in their respective blocks.
During the meeting, the ACD briefed the DDC regarding physical and financial achievements under different schemes of the department including PMAY, SBM, MGNREGA, 14FC, BTV and progress on geo tagging and uploading of MGNREGA plan.
 While reviewing the progress on completion of Panchayat Ghars and CSCs in the district the DBOs raised the issue of land availability for which DDC directed the ACD to identify the land and take up the matter with the concerned Tehsildar for further course of action.
The DDC sought the details regarding issuance of subsidy to the beneficiaries whose cases are approved under PMAY. The ACD informed that first installed is transferred to all beneficiaries besides 2nd and 3rd installments shall be given to the beneficiaries as per guidelines.  
While reviewing the progress on development of play fields in the district, the DDC directed the RDD that play fields shall be development in all panchayats besides identify such panchayats where there is demand for additional play field so that suitable land is identified in the area to develop the same at an earliest.
The DDC impressed upon BDOs to accelerate the pace of work in their respective areas and exhorted to work with pro-active and people friendly approach.
