Inspects progress on various road projects under PMGSY

GANDERBAL, NOVEMBER 11: District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal today visited Thune Badi Pathri where he inspected the site for the construction of road.
Chief Engineer PMGSY, SE PMGSY, SDM Kangan, Executive Engineer PMGSY, Tehsildar Kangan and other concerned officials accompanied the DC.
During the visit, the Chief Engineer PMGSY informed the DC that the 8 km road is approved under PMGSY at the cost of Rs 5.7 crore which will be constructed from Thune Kangan to Badi Pathri.
Pertinently, Badi Pathri is the only habitation which has no road connectivity where over 50 households are residing.
The Executive Engineer PMGSY briefed the DDC about the alignment of the road and said that project is already sanctioned besides compensation amount for land is also disbursed to land owners whose land has come under the project.
On the occasion, the DDC was informed that the matter is sub-judicious as some persons of the area have objection in construction of the road due to which the work is not started on this prestigious road project.
Meanwhile, the locals of Badi Pathri apprised the DDC about the issues they are facing due to non-availability of road connectivity to the area and demanded that the road shall be constructed at the earliest.
Later, DDC also inspected progress on various important road projects under PMGSY including Khatana Pati Gund road, Sumbal Bala check Gund bridge and Mammer Gujar Pati new road in Kangan sub division.
