GANDERBAL, JUNE 06: The DistrictDevelopment Commissioner (DDC) Ganderbal, Shyambir today chaired the 26th Building Operation and Controlling Authority (BOCA) meeting of the Sonamarg Development Authority (SDA) in the VC Room of the DC Office, here.
During the meeting, a detailed discussion was held on applications received seeking permission for construction and repair cases, including those for Army establishments in the Sonamarg area, as per the order issued by the Hon’ble High Court.
Various agenda points were deliberated, and decisions were made based on the merits of each case.
The committee, while reviewing the Army’s application for permission to construct establishments at Sonamarg, Nilgar, and Baltal, emphasized that construction should be confined to strategic areas. The Army was also directed to comply with current environmental and ecological regulations.
The committee also discussed the revision of the Master Plan for Sonamarg, with the current plan set to expire in 2025. The CEO of SDA was instructed to address this matter with the appropriate authority to ensure timely revisions.
Members of the meeting shared their suggestions and observations while reviewing various applications for the grant of NOCs.
The DDC emphasized that all permissions would be issued only after completing all necessary formalities and in compliance with the BOCA Act and court directives.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Town Planner Kashmir, Chief Executive Officer (Member Secretary) SDA, Regional Director Ecology and Environment Srinagar, SE R&B, DFO Sindh Forest Division, and other concerned officers.
