BANDIPORA, MAY 27: District Development Commissioner Bandipora, Shahbaaz Ahmad Mirza Wednesday reviewed the developmental activities in the district.

With ease in restrictions after the district was declared orange zone, the developmental activities have again started in the district.

The meeting was attended by Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, Executive Engineers of PHE, R&B, JKPDD, District Information Officer Bandipora and Chief Medical Officer Bandipora besides other senior officers.

The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the progress on several projects of public importance including water supply schemes, roads and other infrastructure besides reviewing the status of works on several languishing projects in the district.

Mirza said the restrictions owing to COVID Pandemic have been eased out after the Bandipora district fought the war against corona virus effectively and shifted from Red Zone to Orange Zone. He said certain developmental works have resumed in the district with priority given to important projects of public importance.

He urged the officers to expedite the work on these projects so that projects can be completed at earliest. He said much time has been wasted owing to the lockdown and hence work needs to be expedited to compensate the losses. He also directed them to keep in consideration the related health advisories especially maintaining social distancing and using safety gears while working on the projects.

Later the Deputy Commissioner also visited District Hospital Bandipora and inspected the works. The project is in its final phase of completion and shall be well equipped with modern and advanced facilities. DDC directed the concerned authorities to speed up the pace of work so that it is completed as early as possible. He stressed upon mobilizing additional men and machinery so that remaining work is completed within stipulated time frame.
