Feb, 14: District Election Officer (DEO) Bandipora, Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza Friday convened a meeting of district nodal officers and other concerned officers to review the preparations put in place to ensure smooth conduct of the upcoming Panchayat elections.
On the occasion, DEO emphasized on coordinated efforts by all concerned to ensure hassle-free and peaceful conduct of voting in all blocks. The elections would be held for 45 vacant Panchayat Halqas and 603 vacant Panch constituencies of 9 blocks of Bandipora district.
It was given out that the process of designation of ROs and AROs for different blocks have been completed and the election machinery is fully prepared to conduct the requisite process satisfactorily. Meeting was informed that the training programme has been started for ROs and AROs on Friday and the process shall continue till elections.
Officers informed that awareness regarding election process to the voters shall be given special focus and the administration is going to launch a sustained campaign to sensitize the voters about the importance of these elections as these are necessary for socio-economic development at the gross root level.Officers briefed the meeting about the arrangements put in place for the smooth conduct of the elections and said different committees have been constituted with regard to the arrangements including printing of the material, Manpower, transport plan, monitoring of election expenditure and media monitoring.On the occasion DEO impressed upon all ROs, AROs designated to cooperate fully with the administration in negotiating all requirements for smooth conduct of electioneering.
He directed them to deliver all the assigned duties with utmost dedication and responsive nature. Earlier the District Election Office conducted a training session for the ROs and AROs wherein the trainers informed the audience about various stages of the election process and the role and duties ROs and AROs have to perform during the process.
