Srinagar, August 16:Dr. Manu Bhatnagar, wife of Director General Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Sh Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar, inaugurated a computer lab and stitching centre for the welfare of the families of CRPF jawans today.
Dr Bhatnagar, who is also the president of CRPF family Welfare Association (CWA) is on a visit to Srinagar. She was accompanied by Smt Pratima Shrivastava, wife of Additional Director General CRPF JK Zone Sh S. N. Shrivastava and Smt Bharti Vaid, wife of Director General J&K Police Sh S. P. Vaid.
The stitching centre had been a long standing requirement towards skill development and the computer lab will serve as an asset for the children of CRPF jawans towards IT awareness.
An e-magazine “PAHAL” was also launched on the occasion by Dr Bhatnagar. The magazine highlights the activities organised by CRPF regional Family Welfare Association. A colourful and vibrant cultural programme highlighting diversity of the nation and aimed at unity, patriotism and national integrity was also presented by members of CWA on the occasion.
Interacting with the families of CRPF jawans, Dr Bhatnagar praised the CRPF jawans and their families for the supreme services rendered by them in hostile and challenging conditions. She lauded the role played the wives of CRPF personnel towards nurturing their families while their spouses were away handling tough and hostile security environs of J&K.
The visiting dignitary also distributed certificates of appreciation among CRPF personnel and regional CWA members for their praise worthy contributions.
A large number of CRPF officers and wives of personnel attended the programme.
