Exhibit professionalism to gain more and more public faith: Dilbag Singh

SRINAGAR, MAY 13: To appreciate and encourage the police personnel who conducted the investigations of Banihal car bomb blast case and abduction of a minor boy at Jammu, Director General of Police Shri Dilbag Singh rewarded the investigation teams for their efforts in working out these sensational cases within a short period of time. He exhorted upon the police personnel to exhibit similar professionalism and commitment to gain more and more public faith in police working.

Shri Dilbag Singh distributed the reward of about rupees two lakh among these police personnel in a darbar at District Police Lines Jammu. The team of district Ramban worked out the Banihal car bomb blast case with the arrest of all accused. DGP also handed over commendation certificates (class Ist) to these personnel.

Pertinent to mention that on March 30,2019, a terrorist made an unsuccessful attempt to target Security forces convey at Jammu Srinagar National Highway at Banihal. The police team constituted to investigate the case apprehended the main accused and during investigation his accomplices were also identified and arrested.

In another case of public importance regarding abduction of a minor school boy for ransom, from Baribrahmna in Samba district on May 06,2019, the investigation team with their professional efforts and commitment worked out the case with the recovery of the abducted boy and arrested all the accused of the case within few days. The quick and timely action by the police was highly appreciated by public and media. The personnel who conducted the investigation of the case were also given commendation certificates (class Ist) besides cash rewards by the DGP at the darbar.

Addressing the darbar, DGP advised all police officers and jawans to exhibit similar professionalism and dedication to their duties and gain more and more public faith in the working of police. He also appreciated the supervision and personal involvement of senior officers in these cases. He emphasised for regular monitoring of the investigations to bring the culprits to justice. Shri Dilbag Singh said that the work done by the two teams is commendable and such investigations enhance the image of police in the eyes of people.

Referring to the welfare measures taken for police personnel and their families, DGP said that welfare of the police personnel is our priority and PHQ is working continuously for the progression of all ranks. He assured redressal of the grievances of the personnel.DGP later on inaugurated the conference hall at District Police Lines Jammu.

The officers who were present at the darbar included IGP Jammu Shri M.K Sinha, DIG Jammu Shri Sujit Kumar, SSP Jammu, SSP Samba, SP (Ops) Jammu, Addl. SP Ramban, Addl. SP Samba and other Gazetted officers of the Jammu district.
