Asks personnel to enhance their capabilities and skills in policing
Keep complete vigil to thwart evil designs of anti-national elements : Dilbag Singh
SRINAGAR, MAY 27 : As a part of his program to reach out to the police personnel deployed in different districts of the State, Director General Police, J&K, Shri Dilbag Singh accompanied by IGP Shri Vijay Kumar visited district Udhampur and interacted with the jawans and officers at District Police Lines. He was presented guards of honour on his reception. He appreciated the police personnel for their dedication and strenuous efforts in conducting Lok Sabha elections smoothly.
In his address to the officers and jawans the DGP said that constabulary is the strength and foundation of J&K Police whose dedication gives more strength to the organisation. He said that Jammu and Kashmir Police with its capabilities have succeeded in creating a dent in militancy by eliminating various terrorists including their commanders and attempts to revive the militancy in some areas have been foiled. He said that our fight against terrorism will continue and we will achieve our goal to establish lasting peace in the State. He emphasized upon the police personnel to keep their morale high and maintain discipline at all levels.
The DGP said that our officers and jawans have to further enhance their capabilities in different fields of policing as the policemen have to perform multifarious duties which need varied skills. He said that all ranks of the force have to work together with dedication and strengthen bonds with the people to take the force to new heights.
Stressing for more vigil and alertness, DGP said that Jammu and Kashmir Police is known for its bravery and sacrifices throughout the country. He said that we have to keep a complete vigil in our respective areas to thwart the evil designs of anti-national elements. DGP asked the personnel present in the darbar to be fully prepared for the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.
Shri Dilbag Singh said welfare of jawans and officers including the SPOs is among our focused areas and we are taking various steps to ease the hardship of our jawans deployed in far-off areas. He said that some more welfare measures will be discussed in the coming Central Police Welfare Committee Meeting.
Earlier SSP Udhampur Shri Rajeev Pandey welcomed the DGP to the district. He also thanked the DGP for listening the issues raised by different ranks during the interaction. DGP assured that all the genuine grievances raised by the personnel will be redressed on priority.
Shri R.K. Katoch Addl. SP Udhampur, Dr. Rohit Chadgal Dy.SP (Hqrs.), Shri Himmat Singh Dy.SP (DAR) and other jurisdictional officers were present in the darbar.
