Jammu 20 April: J&K Prisons Department released its quarterly Newsletter (April edition) here today. The Newsletter was released by the DGP Prisons, J&K Shri Dilbag Singh IPS in presence of DIG Prisons Dr. M.S. Lone.
The Newsletter depicts various events and activities of the Prisons Department during the second half of 2018 and 2019. The Booklet also demonstrate pictorially the achievements of the Department during the recent past.
On the occasion the DGP Prisons said that the Department is making constant efforts to ensure that the inmates lodged in the Prisons undergo meaningful sentence and are engaged in productive activities. He emphasized that the Department intends to highlight its activities especially those related to reformation and rehabilitation through this Newsletter. The DGP Prisons informed that an Annual Publication which shall include articles by the prisoners and staff is also in the pipe line.
Other senior officers of J&K Prisons Department present on the occasion were Technical Officer to DGP, Shri Shabir Ahmed and Staff Officer to DGP Ms. Saba Shawl.
