Director ULB conducts surprise visit to MC Awantipora

Srinagar, Jul 31 Six employees of Municipal Committee Awantipora were Monday suspended after they were found absent from their duty during a surprise inspection by Director Urban Local Bodies, Riyaz Ahmad Wani.

Wani conducted surprise visit to Municipal Committee Awantipora today where he found six employees absent from their duties.Source said that all the absentees have been placed under suspension.

Meanwhile, Director ULB while talking to correspondent said that they want to improve the work culture in offices. “The need of the hour is to make employees accountable,” he said.

He said people must come up with their complaints against the ‘erring’ officials. “We assure the people that their complaints against the insincere officials will be solved within no time,” he said.

Wani further said that remaining absent from the duty will not be tolerated as it results in the hardships to the people who visit the corporation for their works.

Pertinently, in a surprise visit, Wani has suspended over one dozen employees of Municipal Committee Pampore for remaining absent from duty.
