Ganderbal, June 15: The Director, Urban Local Bodies (ULB), Riyaz Ahmad Wani (KAS) Monday visited Municipal Committee Ganderbal, to felicitate the front line Municipal workers for their tired less and gallant efforts to contain the spread of deadly Covid-19 within and outside the jurisdiction of Ganderbal Municipality.
He also reviews the arrangment of Shri Amarnath Yatra which is likely to start from next month
Wani in his address to the municipal employees and other workers, appreciated their work of sanitization and timely fumigation process at all the Covid effected domestic as well official areas. He said sanitation and fumigation teams worked day and night to ensure the public safety in terms of health and hygiene.
The Director felicitated front line workers with an appreciation certificate as well as a cash reward of Rs 5000/ each. Whereas other workers were also given appreciation certificates.
The Director appreciated the role of executive officer, MCG, G. M. Lone and said that the work done by Municipal Committee under his dynamic command has yielded positive results and there’s a lot to come for the welfare and development of the town. He expressed joy with the work of MCG and said their efforts stood up at the top level.
Wani emphasized on the workers to show the same workman spirit during the forthcoming Amarnath Yatra commencing from mid July, 2020.
The Director also applauded the role of Municipal Councillors and said that these elected members are expected to serve the society in the best possible ways.
Executive officer, MCG after presenting Welcome note, apprised about all the activities taken up and whatsoever was achieved since last week of March. He also concluded the function with his vote of thanks to the Director, workers, Councillors and media fraternity.
President, MCG, Mir Jeelani, Accounts officer ULB, Councillor Abdul Rashid Rather, Abdul Majeed Mir, Showkat Ahmad, Gh Hassan Dar, other councillors and good number of MCG workers were present on the occasion.
