GANDERBAL, MAY 28: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir Tuesday chaired a meeting, here to review and finalize the District Export Plan (DEP).
The DEP aims to boost the district’s export potential by identifying key products and sectors that can be promoted in international markets.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the strategic framework, which includes enhancing the quality and quantity of local products, improving market access, and providing necessary support and infrastructure to local exporters.
Shyambir emphasized the importance of a collaborative approach in achieving the goals outlined in the export plan.
He maintained that the objective is to leverage unique strengths of Ganderbal by focusing on our ODOP product and other key sectors to create new opportunities for our local producers and artisans.
The meeting also covered the integration of modern technology and best practices in production processes to meet global standards. Discussions highlighted the need for capacity building among local producers and the provision of financial incentives to encourage export-oriented growth.
The DC directed all concerned departments to work in synergy and ensure timely implementation of the plan. He also stressed the importance of monitoring progress and making necessary adjustments to the strategy based on market feedback and emerging opportunities.
The meeting concluded with a commitment from all stakeholders to work diligently towards making Ganderbal a key player in export landscape, thereby contributing to the overall economic growth and prosperity of the district.
The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, General Manager DIC, AD H&H, Chief Horticulture Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer, AD Fisheries, Lead District Manager, besides representatives of other Concerned departments and other stakeholders.
