GANDERBAL, JULY 02: District Level Stake Holders meeting on sustainable management of Natural Resources under the Environmental Information System (ENVIS) scheme was held at conference hall of College of Physical Education Gadoora Ganderbal under the chairmanship of the Dr. Anandi Subramanian, Principal Advisor Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC), New Delhi.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Anandi Subramanian said that the aim of holding the meeting is to familiarize stakeholders concerned at the district levels about Green Skill Development Programme (GSDP) and Grid based Division Support System (GRIDSS) initiatives being under taken under ENVIS by the MoEF&CC in order to have greater impact and outreach.
All the District Level Officers from different departments of the district attended the said meeting. Majid Farooq, Scientist and JKENVIS Hub Coordinator, highlighted the objectives of Green Skill Development Programme (GSDP) & Grid Based Decision Support System (GRIDSS) programs.
Shri Kumar Rajnish, National Program Co-ordinator ENVIS shared the initiatives taken by the Ministry in these programmes. Gowhar Meraj Programme Officer, JKENVIS Hub presented the steps taken by the State ENVIS Hub for these programmes.
Anika Mushtaq, Chief Planning Officer, Ganderbal, highlighted some implementing environmental issues need for improvement. Dr. Anandi Subramanian interacted with the stakeholders for their involvement in making these programmes successful.
Officers of district Ganderbal and other dignitaries also shared their valuable views regarding said programs in the meeting.
Earlier, Dr. Anandi Subramanian met the Commissioner Secretary Forest, Ecology, and Environment, Government of Jammu and Kashmir and other dignitaries of the State Government.
