Ganderbal 04 Oct (KNZ):As a goodwill gesture and boosting sports culture among the youth in the valley, J&K Police has taken up various sports activities these days.
In this backdrop, Ganderbal Police is also going to organise district level Cricket Tournament for which onspot registration of teams was done today in Qamaria Ground Ganderbal in presence of Additional SP Ganderbal Shri Feroz Yehya and DySP Hqr Ganderbal, Dr.Abdul Maajid.
A total of 134 teams from all blocks of district came forward for registration out of which 64 teams were selected through onspot draw of lots.The tournament will be played on knockout basis at Qamaria Ground and inaugural match will be played in shortly.
SSP Ganderbal, Shri Khalil Poswal-JKPS congratulated the selected teams and wished them good luck. He also hailed the overwhelming response shown by the youth of Ganderbal and said that J&K Police has always been on the forefront in providing a platform to the youths to excel in sports by organizing such mega sports events.KNZ
