Bandipora, March 13: The District administration Bandipora Friday approbved the action plan of Rs 309.29 Crore for implementing the flagship Jal Jeevan Mission which envisages the supply of 55 litres of water per person per day to every rural household of the district.
The amount was approved during a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza. The meeting was attended by Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, Executive Engineers of various department other senior officers of the district.The meeting was informed that under the Jal Jeevan Mission (Har Ghar Nal) the survey conducted by the administration revealed that there are 13778 households without tap water connection while 20089 households are not receiving water as per Litres Per Capita Per Day (LPCD) norms. DC Bandipora said that accordingly Village Action Plan was formulated for 118 villages and subsequent District Action Plan of Rs 309.29 Crore was formulated aiming to provide drinking water as per norms to the 20089 households.
The action plan include RS 167.23 Crore for 67 Schemes of 41 villages in PHE Division Bandipora , Rs 122.04 crore for 51 schemes in 50 villages of PHE Sopore Division and Rs 20.02 Crore for 29 schemes in 27 villages of PHE Sub-Division Gurez.
Meeting was further informed that 100 DPRs have been framed so fafr while 5076 connection entries have been uploaded on IMIS portal against total connections of 20000. DC Bandipora stressed on the officers to expedite work to upload the data on IMIS portal at earliest.Mirza said the public participation would play an important role in the execution of works under the mission and that NGOs will be involved in the execution of the mission.On the occasion DC Bandipora also reviewed the progress of all the ongoing water supply schemes of the district and directed to expedite the work on these projects so that pure drinking water can be provided to the people. He urged the officials to fill the gaps for effective implementation of JJM which envisages providing every household Piped Water in the district as providing safe drinking water to all is the core of this Mission.
