Sumbal, July 06, : A doctor in Sumbal town of Sonawari has set up an unregistered operation theater at his home in Sumbal town of Sonawari, where he is reported to be conducting illegal surgeries, bypassing the rules of its own department.
A delegation of the residents of the area told CNS the said doctor, namely Manzoor Ahmed Dhobi, who is posted at Community Health Center Hajin as assistant surgeon, has set up an operation theater at his home in Sumbal town, where he is conducting illegal surgeries. The doctor is allegedly wooing patients, visiting CHC Hajin, who are in need of surgery to come to his home at Sumbal, where he is conducting illegal surgeries and thus looting the gullible patients.
It was also alleged by the residents that he is working in a private hospital of Srinagar and is using its slips to writing prescription for the patients, who visit his home for treatment.
When contacted, Manzoor Ahmed Dhobi accepted his wrong doing, with an apology and a promise to close down the illegal activity with immediate effect.
When the matter was brought in the knowledge of chief medical officer Bandipora Dr. Tajjamul, he said that he has very recently took his charge and is yet in the course of assessing the status of the services in the area. He assured that he will look into the matter and will take necessary action.(CNS)
