Srinagar, Nov 30 (KS): Jammu and Kashmir Police have solved a murder case of a 19-year-old boy in Domana by arresting the accused person, officials said on Thursday.
The officials told news agency Kashmir Scroll that they had received information on November 29, 2023, they were informed by one Prahlad Singh of Nardani Raipur Bantalab that his son 19-year-old Raghav Jamwal was kidnapped by some unknown person after the youth didn’t reach for his computer training at Janipur.
“On receiving the report, the Police registered an FIR number 355/2023 under section 363 and started searches to locate the missing boy through human and technical intelligence”, they said.
After hectic efforts, the kidnapper was traced from his rented accommodation at Patoli and upon frisking the police team recovered a mobile phone of the victim from which the accused made ransom calls”, the officials said.
Identifying the accused as Satinder Kumar, son of Chunni Lal, of Main Bazar Kishtwar, currently putting up at Patoli, the officials said the person acted lonely in the crime.
Upon persistent questioning and his subsequent disclosure, the body of the deceased (Raghav Jamwal) was recovered from a nearby forest area adjoining Raipur Khari and Jagti link road.
“The accused admitted killing the victim with a stone on his head on 29/11/2023”, the officials said.
“The accused, the officials said, was known to victim for past almost five years.”
“The Police are gathering more information regarding the whole incident”, the officials said further. (KS)
