Ganderbal (Safapora):As a part of sustained and stringent action against drug mafia, Ganderbal police arrested another dreaded drug peddler at Saffapora.
As per available details, a Police party led by SHO P/S Saffapora SI Sajad Khanday, under the supervision of DySP Ganderbal Shri S M Shafi-JKPS and under the patronage of SSP District Ganderbal Shri Khalil Ahmad Poswal-JKPS, intercepted one person namely Mohd Yasin Bhat, S/O Gh Rasool Bhat, R/O Kambay Mohalla, Wakura Ganderbal, who tried to evade Police naka at Treesa Saffapora Crossing and was trying to sneak into nearby densely populated civil area.
After a lot of resistance the person was apprehended along with a bag in which 20 bottles of codein phosphate contrabanded of drugs.
Accordingly the person was arrested on spot and other legal formalities were completed simultaneously. An FIR No 14/2020, U/S 8/21 NDPS, P/S Saffapora has been lodged into the matter and further investigation taken up.
It is pertinent to mention here that this is the fifth arrest of drug peddler within one month and the arrested peddler is dreaded one and a close ally of recently arrested drug peddler @ Sooda, with a strong network.
He was active for the last 7/8 years in the area. All sections of Public have hailed the action of Police and have expressed their concerns over the growing trend of drug addiction and trafficking.
Police on this occasion has assured public that stringent laws would be invoked against the drug mafia and zero tolerance would be adopted against drugs subject to the cooperation of public.
