GANDERBAL, MAY 27: The Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal who is also chairman of E-auction Committee Geology and Mining today chaired a meeting of E-auction Committee to discuss various aspects of mineral blocks in the district Ganderbal and E-auction process.
The meeting was attended by all committee members comprising of SE (PWD) R&B Ganderbal, Executive Engineer I&FC division Ganderbal, District Treasury Officer, Sr. Drilling Engineer Geology and Mining Srinagar and District Mineral Officer Ganderbal.
The ADC Ganderbal, Farooq Ahmad Baba was also present in the meeting.
During the meeting threadbare discussion was held on E-auction process of all 6 minor mineral bocks of the district and was decided that E-auction shall be held on 19th June 2020.
The committee members put forward their valuable suggestions with regard to the excavation of minerals so that the work of these respective departments is not affected due to the extraction of minerals and suggested for scientific excavation of minerals.
On the occasion the DC stressed for scientific and sustainable extraction of minerals without damaging ecology and aquatic life in these areas besides developmental works of several departments and the general public at large is not affected due to the extraction of minerals.
While discussing the mining plan for extraction of minerals, the committee decided that extraction should be strictly done manually without use of any excavators.
