Srinagar: On the auspicious day of Arbaeen, Ehsaas Foundation in collaboration with Smile Foundation and Noor-ul-Huda Foundation organized a free medical camp at Khomaini Chowk, Bemina.

The medical-bound camp was received by hundreds of locally residing people who counted as serving the community on a very important day.

The medical camp was set up as part of the broader observance of Arbaeen, the Chehlum of the martyrs of Karbala marked by thousands of people across Jammu and Kashmir.

The Arbaeen is observed 40 days after Ashura and is a day of deep reflection and mourning in the Islamic calendar; it commemorates the martyrdom of Prophet Muhammad’s grandson, Hussain, in the Battle of Karbala in 680 AD.

The Shia mourners during the processions of the Majlis congregated at venues like Zadibal Budgam, Bemina, Hasanabad, Chatabal, Budibugh Baramulla, Sonpah Beerwa, etc., to pay homage to the martyrs of Karbala.

The medical camp aimed to provide important medical services to the public, including general body check-ups, consultations, and distribution of medicines. The whole exercise was well received by most of the attendees, and many came out appreciative of the timely and kind care offered by the foundations.
